Welcome to Troop 550!

During the school year, we meet each Monday evening at 7:00pm at the Redmond United Methodist Church on the corner of 166th Ave, NE and NE 80th St, Redmond, WA 98053.   Come by and experience a boy led troop!

Because of our summer time activities & school holidays we may not have a scheduled meeting so please contact our Scoutmaster to confirm meeting times/locations.

We are an active troop.  In the past few years, our Scouts and their families have hiked Mt Saint Helens & Camp Muir, built snow caves and igloos on Mt Rainier, canoed Ross Lake, attended the Washington Jamboree and sent several crews to Philmont Scout Ranch

Our Goals

Our troop operates as a boy-led, adult-coached unit, where Scouts plan the meetings, activities, training, service, and fundraising projects.  A Senior Patrol Leader is elected by the members of the troop and guides the troop.  Our Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters advise & coach the Scouts, giving help and guidance while they develop into young leaders.  The overall plan is to help the Scouts grow in their leadership abilities and decision making abilities, fostering a healthy and successful troop.

About Troop 550

Troop 550 is a community based troop, developing young leaders in the Redmond community since 1963.  More than 90 of our Scouts have attained the rank of Eagle Scout.  In the coming year, we expect to award 6 additional Eagle ranks.  While the opportunity exists to achieve Eagle, it is not the troop’s primary focus.  Our Scouts learn leadership and life skills while participating in outdoor activities, service projects, and troop adventures.  Our scouts challenge themselves and learn new ways of thinking while completing merit badges and various outdoor events.  Many Scouts take on different elected positions within the troop, and learn leadership and teamwork skills that will benefit them and their community.
